SheWord offers a feminist perspective on relationships, sex, media and many other relevant issues. Different people have different opinions and make different choices; we are all feminist writers, but that doesn't mean we all have the same perspectives. Our staff members come from diverse backgrounds and live different lifestyles, but what we all have in common is the fact that we're not afraid to call ouselves feminists.

What is a FEMINIST?

We get this a lot, so here's the definition:

fem·i·nist (noun, adjective) - a person who advocates social, political, and all other rights of women to equal those of men.

Our feminist community disdains all gender inequality and all gender stereotypes, including those imposed upon men and boys. We informally represent the GLBT community and advocate for equal treatment of transgender individuals. All people should be treated equally and no one should receive condescension, disrespect, abuse, violence or patronization due to their personal identity.
